Organized as The Hemerocallis Society of Baton Rouge in 1951, the name was changed to the Baton Rouge Daylily Society in November of 1988.

The Purpose of the Society, and this web site is, as stated in Article II of the Constitution of the Society:

Shall be to promote, encourage, and foster the development and improvement of the daylily and the public interest in them in Baton Rouge and the surrounding area by any means possible.
