Spring 2013  Tips:

Time to clean the beds before it gets too hot for the gardener!
Clear any weeds, apply your fertilizer and soil amendments, apply the pre-emergence weed preventer and  refresh the mulch

Then do the initial spray for bugs and diseases. Follow-up sprays as needed.

High daytime temps. mean be careful as to when you water. Very early in the day is best.

Watch for bugs and diseases.  See the Growing Daylilies Tips for spray suggestions and timings.

Preen and/or SnapShot (granular pre-emergent herbicides) are working well to hold down weeds in the gardens. Applied in late Feb, may need to reapply in late summer, given the rain South LA.  Please follow package label directions.
