THE SECOND WEEKEND OF
GARDEN DAYS AT
THE MALL OF LOUISIANA

Saturday, April 14, 2001
The second and last Saturday of the Spring Garden and Landscaping Exhibit in the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge was a great success.

Again, hundreds of gardeners and visitors stopped to talk growing and collecting daylilies.

President Joe Goudeau and his wife Ginger had a super display table all set up for the public to see and to realize "They aren't just yellow anymore"! A few early blooms opened in time to be shown but the photos labeled with cultivar names were a fine stand in for the real thing.

Sue Gauthreaux, Ginger, Ashley Goudeau and Muriel Walker talked daylilies to any and all who would listen.

Joe and Ginger were hosts to the visitors to the table along with their son Joseph and joined by Tom and Muriel Walker in the early afternoon.

Most folks wanted information about growing daylilies as well as dividing the clumps they already grow.

Visitors to the display table were greeted later in the afternoon by Beth and Clarence Crochet. By 5 pm, the basket for names of visitors entering the drawings for daylilies was very full.

Winners of the plants will be notified by the club in the next few days.
