- Mr. Clarence Crochet was Awarded the Steve Moldivan Mentoring Award by the American Hemerocallis Society at the National Convention in May in Baton Rouge. This award is voted by the AHs Board of Directors and recognizes on a National level an outstanding member in the area of mentoring in the world of daylilies.
- Mr. Kenneth Begnaud of Lafayette won the 2011 Clarence Crochet Seedling Award as voted by all attendees to view the seedling bed during the National tours. The Seedling Award bed was located in the garden of Daylilies, Etc. owned and operated by Joe and Ginger Goudeau located in Baker, LA.

BRDS along with Region 13, welcomed the daylily world to South Louisiana and Baton Rouge in May 2011.
